Appointed by main contractor Laing O'Rourke, Vetter UK were initially responsible for the breakout and replacement of approximately 2,600m² of existing tiles and screeding during a nightshift, and the installation of temporary protection to ensure the shopping centre could reopen the following morning.
A complex and intricate package of works involving small areas and patterns required our team to provide the highest level of workmanship and care throughout.
Whilst onsite, Vetter UK were also awarded the gallery works totalling an additional 2660m². With a brief to ‘remove the patterns and modernise the look’, works involved removal and replacement of the gallery flooring, including the curved ‘Knuckles’, and porcelain tiling to the link bridge.
Key to our success was matching the new stone to the existing floor which had been laid many years ago. Giallo Veneziano Granite was the main stone for the project, alongside Verde Butterfly Green Granite.
