Vetter UK was responsible for a combination of the breaking out of existing tiles, screeding and new tiling to the upper mall, over tiling to the lower mall, as well as external hard landscaping totalling approximately 11,000m²

With the shopping centre remaining a live environment throughout, the works took place out of hours on nightshift. This proved a particular challenge with noise restrictions in place from 10pm every evening.

In order for the shopping centre to be fully operational each day, our team installed a temporary floor solution to the live malls – PVC chequer tiles were installed allowing the public to safely access all shops and cross between temporary/existing/new floors without issue.

The PVC tiles were both flexible and hard wearing with a high slip resistance providing a sustainable product that could be used again and again. The interlocking jigsaw edge meant that once installed they stayed firmly in place with almost zero maintenance, imperative in a busy live shopping mall.
